Among the five most admired airlines
In the list drawn up every year by the American magazine Fortune, the Air France-KLM group is ranked the fifth most admired airline. Among the top airlines in the 2011 ranking is Delta, the airline with which Air France-KLM and Alitalia operate the largest transatlantic joint-venture, with 250 daily flights.
The list of the most admired airlines is drawn up by Fortune, following a survey carried out among corporate directors and financial analysts. Each must qualify companies according to various criteria including the quality of products and services, the company’s competitiveness, innovation, the quality of management, long-term investment, social responsibility and the group’s financial state.
313,000 Facebook fans
Air France has just become the leading European airline and the leading airline major on a global scale on Facebook. Air France now has 313,000 Facebook fans, a success largely due to the Travel Challenge game which gave away 60 air tickets.
On the various social media, Air France has 24 Twitter accounts and also has a dedicated “Air France Music” page on Facebook.
More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
With the recent wild fires, disrupting flights and increasing air pollution, environmental quality is a growing factor in attracting tourists.
