Air France supports Annecy 2018
Thursday 28, April 2011
Air France is supporting Annecy 2018, candidate city to organize the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in 2018.
By supporting the French delegation, Air France is promoting the values of performance, exemplary behaviour in terms of sustainable development for the airline industry and France’s global reach, values upheld by the Annecy 2018 project.
The delegation will present its candidacy in front of the members of the International Olympic Committee on 6 July in Durban, South Africa.
Air France is the leading airline in the Rhône-Alpes region and flies to Annecy twice daily from Paris-Orly. Lyon-Saint Exupéry is AIR FRANCE KLM’s third hub, after Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol, which connects all the major regional and European cities with 38 destinations served by non-stop flights: 22 in France, 15 in Europe and 1 in North Africa.
Just a few miles from Annecy, Air France operates 9 daily flights to Geneva from Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
With the recent wild fires, disrupting flights and increasing air pollution, environmental quality is a growing factor in attracting tourists.
