American Thanksgiving in the Swiss Alps

This Thanksgiving over 200 American University Students will celebrate the holiday in Interlaken, Switzerland.

On Friday the 26th November 2010, approximately 200 American Study Abroad students will celebrate Thanksgiving at the year round resort, Balmer’s Herberge in Interlaken, Switzerland.

Balmer’s is situated in the centre of Switzerland in the heart of Europe and is the oldest privately owned Youth Hostel having opened it’s doors in 1945. Since 1981 they have prepared, served, and celebrated their famous Thanksgiving feast with  their valued guests.

Not only will the students be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Jungfrau region, and winter activities such as skiing, snowboarding, sledding and snowshoeing but also relax in  the Hostel’s night club.

Along with drink specials, interaction with the locals, conveniently and safely situated on its premises the Metro Bar  promises life long friendships to be made- and is a great way to wind down after an activity filled day.

All this is made possible with Bus2alps who will be organising group tours to Interlaken for students studying in Rome, Florence, London, Prague and Barcelona this Thanksgiving.

Bus2alps was founded in 2003 and provides weeklong, weekend and day trips to the American Study Abroad student market. Plan your trips with the help of great resources

More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
