British Airways flights to Youth Olympic Games Singapore

The country’s finest up and coming athletes head to Singapore on August 9, to compete in the first ever Youth Olympic Games.
As the official airline of Team GB, British Airways is flying the nation’s 40 hopeful athletes from 16 Olympic sports. They include ones-to-watch – 400m runner Victoria Ohuruogu (younger sister of gold medallist Christine), gymnast Sam Oldham, tennis player Oliver Golding, archer Mark Nesbitt and swimmer Ellie Faulkner.
Tania Devereux, British Airways global sponsorship manager, said: “We’re proud to fly Team GB to the first ever Youth Olympic Games. Today’s promising teenagers have the potential to be tomorrow’s stars and we’re delighted to be supporting them on their Olympic journey.”
The BA11 flight has been stocked with high-energy snack foods, extra water and fruit for the athletes, while ‘Team GB’ headrests have been made for their seats. To mark the occasion, a special announcement will be made by the Captain to wish the team good luck in Singapore.
Travelling in style and comfort, the athletes will be treated to a variety of English favourite dishes – from Scottish smoked salmon to Hertfordshire Beef. The in-flight entertainment includes the latest films as well as sport documentary ‘Road to London 2012’ to get them in the mood.
