British Airways is bringing the talent home for British Academy Film Awards

British Airways is bringing the talent home for British Academy Film Awards

As London prepares for the Orange British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA Awards) on Sunday February 13, British Airways is playing a crucial role in flying the international talent to London for the ceremony.

Hollywood and New York producers, directors and actors will be descending to the capital courtesy of the airline, many of the names under wraps until the big day.

As official airline to BAFTA, this is the second year the airline has been involved. Last year British Airways flew in a number of stars, including; Cillian Murphy, Guy Pearce, Kate Winslet, Dustin Hoffman, Mickey Rourke and James Cameron.

Tania Devereux, British Airways global sponsorship manager, said: “The Awards are a highlight in the social calendar, and we’re delighted to be supporting the event again.

“The talent will fly in style and luxury in our Club World and First class cabins, so they arrive ready and refreshed for the Awards night.”

To mark the occasion, British Airways is showcasing some of the BAFTA nominated films in its schedule throughout February, these include; Inception, The Social Network, 127 Hours and Made in Dagenham.

Other BAFTA winning films on board throughout the month include; Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Goodfellas, The Godfather Part II, Monsters Inc, Ratatouille, L.A. Confidential, JFK, Tootsie, Unforgiven, Little Miss Sunshine, Juno, Almost Famous, The Godfather and UP.

The BAFTA partnership was launched last year with a ‘Silent Picturehouse’ event. Since then the airline has supported the Academy throughout the year and also co-hosted the Nominees’ Party for the EA British Academy Children’s Awards in 2010.

The partnership allows British Airways to have access to BAFTA content for its in-flight entertainment, a presence at award ceremonies and support of the BA Great Britons Programme.
