Champion lineup at Tshwane Fan Fest this week
Wednesday 16, June 2010
Thousands of people turning up at the City of Tshwane’s Fifa Fan Fest will be treated to a scintillating line-up of live performances from a variety of South African artists.
In its official opening, the Tshwane Fan Fest, situated at the Centurion Cricket Grounds, clocked capacity of 25 000 fans an hour before kickoff, a definite indicator that the residents did not want to miss an opportunity to be part of the spirit and fanfare that goes with world’s biggest tournament, the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.
Deafening sounds of vuvuzelas, flags flown around and spectators queuing at the entrance kept organisers on their toes throughout the afternoon.
And for this week’s games, the Tshwane Fan Fest features performances from top artists and heading the bill is HHP’s collaboration with PJ Powers as they’ll belt out their captivating hit song Jabulani.
Joining them will be veteran Kwaito artist Thebe alongside acts such as Rhythmic Elements, RJ Benjamin, Liquid Deep, Wonderboom, Chommie, Winnie Khumalo and many more.
The daily line-up of top notch performers is guaranteed to keep the energy levels high whilst filling the atmosphere with electrifying excitement.
The City has also installed a giant makarapa not just for the many thousands of soccer fans to sign, but also as a legacy that will demonstrate the status of Tshwane as the City of Champions.
South African food and refreshments are on offer, including a wide variety of traditional tastes, Malay chicken curry, poitjiekos, boerewors rolls, braai and biltong.
Not forgetting perennial favourites, internationally popular food items are also available. These include beef burgers, hot dogs, chicken prego rolls, fish goujons, calamari, lasagna, vegetable soup and French fries.
The City of Tshwane is working closely with FIFA to share data on traffic volumes around key games thus ensuring the smooth flow of operations.

More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
With the recent wild fires, disrupting flights and increasing air pollution, environmental quality is a growing factor in attracting tourists.
