EIBTM Hosted Buyer program on target for record-breaking levels of business
Friday 7, October 2011
With a 4 percent increase in accepted applications (10 weeks from show), EIBTM is set for it’s best year of business yet.
EIBTM expects to see over 3,800 Hosted Buyers with serious purchasing power to attend the show this year, with research showing that 47% of Hosted Buyers attending EIBTM 2010 had annual meetings budgets of over $1 million.
EIBTM has also seen a 48% increase in accepted buyers from the UK compared to this time last year. Key countries including Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and Russia have seen a significant increase in accepted Hosted Buyer applications, and as a result, EIBTM, a Reed Travel Exhibitions Event, has been working closely with Barcelona Convention Bureau, Ultramar Event Management, and BCD Meetings&Incentives to ensure that each Hosted Buyer accepted is guaranteed complementary flights and 4/5 star accommodation.
Reed Travel Exhibitions have now also appointed a dedicated team in the US to provide additional support and assist with qualification and management of Hosted Buyers traveling from America.
Benefits for Hosted Buyers at EIBTM include complimentary flights and accommodation, transfers and a personal diary of pre–scheduled appointments. In addition to these, buyers will also benefit from invites to numerous networking functions, dedicated Hosted Buyer lounges, the chance to meet a broad range of international exhibitors and dedicated education (tailored to the needs of corporates, associations, and agencies).
In order to meet the growing demand for business meetings at EIBTM, an additional appointment per day will also be arranged for each accepted Buyer. As a result, EIBTM is expected to generate over 60,000 one- to- one appointments, ensuring maximum productivity and ROI is achieved.
June Clark, Reed Travel Exhibitions EIBTM Hosted Buyer Program Manager commented: “What makes our Hosted Buyer program so invaluable to those attending is that unlike other Hosted Buyer programs, ours is ‘100% buyer driven.' All Hosted Buyers attending as individuals or as part of a group, decide which exhibitors they would like to see before the show. EIBTM then matches these appointments and provides each buyer with an individual diary of pre-selected appointments”.
Research has also confirmed that 99% of International Buyers who attended EIBTM 2010 left the show feeling satisfied that the Global Meetings and Events Exhibition had met their commercial needs.
Collette Mcgannon, Senior Event Director, TM Forum commented: “As an organizer of events the fraction of the size of EIBTM, I was completely blown away by Reed Travel Exhibitions organization and execution from start to finish. It was a wonderful event, and the Hosted Buyer team were simply superb.”

More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
With the recent wild fires, disrupting flights and increasing air pollution, environmental quality is a growing factor in attracting tourists.
