Etap Hotel opens its 400th hotel in Europe

Etap Hotel, the leader in low-cost hotels, opens its 400th European hotel in Verdun, France, confirming its leadership position.
A dynamic network
The opening of Etap Hotel’s 400th hotel reflects its dynamic European expansion. The brand has opened 100 new hotels since 2004 and now boasts 34,000 rooms in 10 countries (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, United Kingdom and Switzerland). Its objective is to have over 500 hotels worldwide by 2011 or 45,000 rooms in about 20 countries.

Etap Hotel Verdun has just been built and showcases the new Etap Hotel Cocoon concept which was launched in 2009, has already been rolled out in 30 of the network’s hotels in France, Spain, Luxembourg, Switzerland and the Netherlands and is being actively deployed throughout Europe.
This is the latest generation of designer rooms specially planned with flexibility, fluidity and well-being in mind, and styled to create a cocoon atmosphere, using soft, relaxing colors. These rooms are brighter and more comfortable and are available in three types. They come with soft duvets, touch-sensitive reading lamps, spacious showers and new features (open plan space, flat screen TV with a multimedia hook-up, luggage storage area, full-length mirror, etc.).
Public spaces have also been revamped: the welcome and breakfast areas have been reinvented with a focus on brightness and conviviality.
Verdun, the brand’s 200th franchised hotel
Etap Hotel Verdun in France is also the brand’s 200th franchised hotel in Europe. Etap Hotel has proved its exemplary profitability to franchisee partners and franchising is one of the brand’s main growth levers. Over 50% of Etap Hotel’s European establishments are run under franchise agreements.
