Europcar and HRS are Air Berlin’s new Premium Partners
Friday 2, July 2010
Germany’s second largest airline will be working with two new Premium Partners as from today: Europcar, the top European car rental company, and HRS, Europe’s leading online hotel portal.
The existing Premium Partnerships with Sixt and ERGO Direkt Insurance are also being continued. These cooperation arrangements create particular benefits for Air Berlin passengers in that travellers can book their entire trip at airberlin.com, the airline’s homepage, and at extremely favourable terms. The process is quite simple: once passengers have selected their flight on the website, they then automatically receive offers for rental cars from Europcar and for accommodation from the hotel portal HRS. If members of the topbonus frequent flyer programme decide to take advantage of these offers from the airline’s Premium Partners, they will be credited with additional topbonus miles.
"With a single click our passengers can select our Premium Partners’ products. Whether they opt for a convertible for a city break or an estate car for family excursions to explore the area near their holiday home, Europcar offers our passengers optimum service at the best possible terms," said André Rahn, Marketing Director, Air Berlin PLC. "The HRS hotel portfolio is a good fit, because it offers hotels tailored to our passengers’ individual requirements – from luxury and golf hotels to beach hotels and city-centre accommodation. Our new Premium Partners have made the airberlin.com website even more attractive," commented Rahn. In addition the Premium Partners receive attractive advertising space: Air Berlin incorporates them in the booking environment on its airberlin.com website, the brands are displayed at the ticket and check-in desks, they feature on the aircraft’s skin near the entrance, and also on in-flight TV and in the Air Berlin magazine.
After two years of proven topbonus partnership, Europcar will become our new Premium Partner for rental cars with effect from 1st July. topbonus members will continue to receive 500 award miles each time they hire a vehicle from Europcar. To celebrate the Premium Partnership, Europcar is offering topbonus members an additional gift in the first few months: it is the only partner company to credit passengers not only with award miles, but also with status miles. topbonus members renting a Europcar vehicle during the special offer period from 1st July to 15th October can decide whether they want to collect double award miles – bringing them closer to a free flight – or 500 topbonus award miles as well as 500 status miles as a faster way of earning an upgrade.
"Air Berlin is a strong brand in European aviation. Like Europcar it represents excellent service and fair prices. The cooperation arrangement will help us to develop our presence at international airports and to reach even more business travellers and holidaymakers," remarked Dr. Bernd Schmaul, Managing Director Sales and Marketing, Europcar Germany.
At HRS, Europe’s leading online hotel portal, Air Berlin passengers will be able to book hotel rooms at the best current rate as from today. They will receive a range of offers tailored to their flight details and destination. Passengers can choose from over 250,000 hotels – from family-run businesses to international hotel chains – to find the right place to stay. topbonus members can enjoy an additional benefit: they will be credited with three topbonus award miles for every euro they spend on their hotel booking.
HRS’s managing Director, Tobias Ragge, is thrilled with the new cooperation arrangement: "Air Berlin and HRS are two tourist enterprises that have won multiple awards. By working together, they can offer travellers an outstanding and time-saving booking service. Our products are a perfect fit."
Air Berlin is Germany’s second largest airline. As at 31st March 2010 the company had more than 8,500 employees and was operating 150 aircraft. In 2009 alone Air Berlin received more than 10 awards for service and quality. With an average age of only 5.3 years, Air Berlin has one of the newest fleets in Europe. The airline’s modern aircraft are extremely fuel-efficient and so provide a lasting contribution to the reduction of aviation emissions.
Plan your trips with the help of great resources
More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
