Experience the power! Eyjafjallajokull Volcanic Eruption tour
Tuesday 4, May 2010
A new 4x4 Super Jeep Tour organised by Icelandtotal takes you as close as possible to the Eyjafjallajokull Volcanic Eruption site. This tour is offered in May or for as long as the volcano is active. The nature is unpredictable and there is no way to estimate for how long the eruption will continue.
The volcano tour takes you to the place where you have the best possible view of the eruptions in Eyjafjallajokull glacier, ca. 3-5 kilometres from the eruption. We will take you off-road, where only specially modified 4x4 super jeeps can go to.
How close to the volcano do you get?
It depends, e.g. on road conditions, weather conditions and the volcano itself. This tour departs to the area and from there, the expert guide will take you to the best place possible.
You will depart in the afternoon, so you can witness the explosions and thunders in the evening. The experience is amazing – you won't get a better change to know how powerful mother earth can be. You will spend some time at the eruption site and experience in the twilights, when the sun is about to set and the volcano lightens up the sky.
Pick-up to your hotel/guesthouse in Reykjavik is included, 30 minutes prior to the departure. Please be ready in the lobby!
More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
With the recent wild fires, disrupting flights and increasing air pollution, environmental quality is a growing factor in attracting tourists.
