HS2 To Reroute To Heathrow Airport?
Wednesday 24, October 2012
If the current aviation inquiry rules that Heathrow airport should be developed, there has also been a recommendation by the new Transport Secretary, Patrick McLoughlin, that the new high-speed train line which has been considered, should be rerouted towards Heathrow.
Though there has been heavy opposition to both the airport expansion and the high-speed train (HS2), the route linking the London and the North has large factions in the government staunchly fighting the corner to ensure they both go ahead. With the report not due for release until 2015, and construction on the railway not due to commence until 2018, those who regularly depart or arrive into Heathrow can breathe a sigh of relief – for now. In the coming years, Heathrow will expand its business to many thousands more people and make aspects of flying such as airport parking a real challenge for passengers. Finding appropriate Heathrow parking is tough enough without the added numbers that the terminal and train network will bring into the airport.
Value Individual Parking provides Heathrow passengers with a specialist meet and greet parking service which can guarantee a parking space amongst the hustle and bustle of the country’s busiest airport. Gone are the days of endlessly circling expensive long-stay car parks, panicking about late return fees and not being completely convinced of a car’s security in an open space. With this service, customers can drive their own car to a designated meeting point, at the nearby Heathrow Crowne Plaza Hotel, the London Heathrow Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Ariel, or indeed the terminal of departure. The car is then taken to a secure compound where it has its own parking space and is under 24-hour monitoring for the duration of the trip. Optional extras include an overnight stay at the Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Junction 4 or Holiday Inn Ariel or a valet service so the car is in tip-top condition on the customer’s return.
Whether travelling for business or leisure, Value Individual Parking has a raft of options to suit. A Heathrow chauffeur park-and-ride service is ideal for those who don’t wish to navigate the difficult motorway system on the way into Heathrow’s terminals. This service is of particular advantage to small parties who don’t travel with too much luggage, as the service is dependent on having a spare seat within the passenger’s car. Corporate options are also available for those who utilise Value Individual Parking’s meet and greet parking services on a regular basis. This option includes a frequent flyer discount rate for organisations who book regularly, and complete flexibility regarding meet and greet times, which can be useful when dealing with delayed flights or overrun meeting times. All of these services will be beneficial now and in the coming years, when parking spaces at Heathrow will be at such a premium.
