Iceland Express offers free stopover en-route to New YorkMonday 3, May 2010

Fly to New York on Iceland Express’ new route this summer and receive a stopover night in Reykjavik absolutely free. Passengers will be able to see the sights of Iceland’s capital city and enjoy a free night’s accommodation before flying on to the bright lights of the Big Apple.
What's more, the low-fare airline's new cheap transatlantic flights from London Gatwick mean UK visitors can travel to New York, via Reykjavik, for a fraction of the cost.
"Reykjavik has so much to offer visitors so we want to give our passengers the chance to explore the city and spend a night there at no extra cost," says Matthias Imsland, Iceland Express CEO. "Our route to New York is an extremely exciting step for us and is an opportunity for the UK market to enjoy a low-cost trip to New York. The stopover is an extra bonus, which will allow passengers to see Iceland for themselves and enjoy two dream destinations in one trip."
Iceland Express' new service, which connects Reykjavik with New York's Newark International Airport, will launch on 1 June 2010 and will operate four times a week.
The free stopover offer is available to all passengers who book a return flight between Europe and the United States, starting in either destination.
Accommodation is based on two people sharing a room in a Reykjavik hotel. Bookings must be made a minimum of four weeks in advance of the departure date and are subject to availability. The offer is available from 15:00 GMT on 28 April 2010.
In June 2010, Iceland Express will also launch flights from Birmingham to Reykjavik, London Gatwick to Akureyri and Reykjavik to Winnipeg, Canada.
