Iceland Express to touch down in three new American destinations
Friday 27, August 2010
Iceland Express is taking North America by storm and is launching three new routes to the States throughout 2010 and 2011.
After recently making its successful New York route permanent, Iceland Express has now announced its latest services to Orlando, Chicago and Boston. What’s more, the airline will also start to operate New York flights on a daily basis from June 2011.
“Our New York route was such a success that we wanted to branch out and try flying to other locations in America, as well as offer a lot more flights to the Big Apple,” says Matthias Imsland, CEO of Iceland Express.
“Orlando has always been a very popular destination for Icelanders as well as travellers from across Europe. Boston and Chicago are also great destinations for these markets as they are quick to get to and we are able to offer very competitive rates, allowing our customers to see a lot more of America for a fraction of the cost.”
The Orlando service will run on a temporary basis from 2-24 October 2010 and will fly every Saturday from London Gatwick, with return flights departing on a Sunday. Prices will start at £224 one-way including taxes.
The weekly Chicago service launches on 10 June 2011 and will operate every Friday from London Gatwick. Flights will start from £221 one-way including taxes.
Flights to Boston will begin on 13 June 2011 and Iceland Express will depart from London Gatwick four times a week, Monday to Thursday. Iceland Express will offer a stopover in Reykjavik for all flights to the USA.
Following the success of Iceland Express’ London to Winnipeg route, which launched temporarily in June 2010, the airline will also bring back this service on 12 June 2011.
More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
With the recent wild fires, disrupting flights and increasing air pollution, environmental quality is a growing factor in attracting tourists.
