Italy’s leading UNA Hotels renews with Utell Hotels & Resorts
Tuesday 3, August 2010
Utell Hotels & Resorts has bolstered its 200-plus Italian portfolio by renewing UNA Hotels & Resorts for a two-year representation and Global Commission Processing Services contract.
As the leading Italian operator of four-star business-oriented hotels, UNA Hotels & Resorts maintains 19 hotels with more than 2,000 rooms in Italy’s main cities under the brand UNA Hotels, along major Italian thoroughfares as UNAWAY Hotels, and in natural settings as UNA Resorts.
After first loading negotiated rates in the global distribution system (GDS) with Utell in 2009, UNA has become an evangelical Utell member, leveraging the power of Utell to drive bookings via the GDS that complement those coming directly through the hotels’ Web site, according to Angelo La Riccia, sales and marketing director for UNA Hotels & Resorts.
“This year has been very strong for us as we’ve realized increases of more than 35% in room nights and nearly 30% in revenue,” said La Riccia. “We believe this success is rooted in our dedication to the GDS as a major and complementary sales channel to our site, which is why we’re returning to Utell for another two years of GDS distribution and representation. UNA is a strong brand in Italy, and Utell brings that same notoriety on the international level.”
UNA Hotels offers elegant hotels in the most central and prestigious areas of Milan, Rome, Venice, Florence and Bologna, all featuring authentic Italian design and architecture. UNAWAY Hotels offer competitive rates at easily accessible hotels along Italian highways for the traveler moving throughout the country. Finally, UNA Resorts are elegant properties in natural settings along the Italian coast and in the countryside, ideal for relaxing vacations and business meetings. All properties in the UNA Hotels & Resorts family offer excellent service and facilities, which helps build the three brands’ reliable repeat clientele among both domestic and international Italian business travelers.
“Throughout our relationship, UNA has always offered Utell bookers rate parity, good year-round availability and up-to-date local and international negotiated rates,” said Avelina Iglesias, vice president of sales and account management in EMEA for Utell Hotels & Resorts. “It’s thrilling to have this kind of mutually beneficial relationship with our member hotels, which ultimately leads to greater agent satisfaction – from the ease and accuracy of the booking to the guaranteed payment of the commission through Pegasus Global Commission Processing Services.”
UNA Hotels reaps the business benefits of Utell’s extensive and proven business-generating relationships with the majority of the world’s travel agencies, as well as preferred agreements with major TMCs (travel management companies), online distributors, corporations and consortia groups. The group also utilizes Utell’s powerful MarketVision competitive intelligence tools through two properties, and enjoys market-leading reservations and booking technology as well as commission payment services powered by Pegasus Solutions.
All 19 UNA Hotels are available on the global distribution systems (GDSs) under Utell’s chain code, UI, and at the dedicated travel agent Web site www.UtellAgent.com.
