Gatwick's runway is currently closed due to heavy snow, with no departing or arriving flights but Heathrow is open and both runways are clear.
Snow update - delays and cancellations
Heathrow is open and both runways are clear. However due to the adverse weather there are a number of cancellations and delays. British Airways has cancelled all flights between 10:00 and 17:00 today (Saturday 18 December).
Please check the flight status with your airline before travelling to the airport and allow extra time for your journey as the road and rail networks may be affected.
Gatwick's runway is currently closed due to heavy snow, with no departing or arriving flights. The runway will remain closed until 15:00 today (Saturday 18 December) at the earliest. Gatwick is expecting further significant snowfall for much of the day.
British Airways has cancelled all domestic and European flights between 10.00 and 17.00.
There are also delays and cancellations across Europe, with airports including Amsterdam, Geneva, Munich and Copenhagen among those disrupted.
Luton Airport is open and operational. However, we would like to advise that severe weather conditions in other regions/countries may affect arriving and departing flights.
Stansted Airport is open. However, weather warnings have been issued for the majority of the UK over the next few days. If you are travelling during this period, please check your flight's status with your airline before setting out and allow extra time for your journey to the airport as the road/rail networks may be affected.
