London Heathrow and Gatwick airport are open - 20th December
Monday 20, December 2010
Heathrow Airport is open and operating a limited schedule of arrivals and departures today. Gatwick's runway is open and operations are returning to normal.
London Heathrow
Further cancellations and delays are expected in the coming days. Airlines move diverted aircraft and crew back to their normal positions and Heathrow airport continues to manage the impacts of the poor weather over the weekend and in the days ahead.
Please do not travel to the airport unless your airline has confirmed that your flight will be operating. If your flight status is shown as 'contact airline' on the live flight board on Heathrow airport website, your flight will not be operating today.
London Gatwick
Knock-on delays and cancellations are likely throughout the day due to the ongoing impact of snow across Northern Europe. The advice to passengers remains the same - please check your airline's website to confirm the status of your flight.
Plan your trips with the help of great resources
More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
