Leading leisure airline, Monarch, has added additional flights to its Christmas and New Year flying programme as demand for services to Spanish and Cypriot hotspots soar with weary Brits looking for some festive sunshine.
Additional flights to Malaga, Tenerife and Larnaca have been added over the Christmas and New Year period and are now available to book via www.monarch.co.uk with fares starting from £38.99 one way (£61.99 return) inclusive of all taxes and charges*.
The following additional flights will now operate:
In addition to the new flights, additional seats are also now available over the Christmas period on flights to Tenerife from Luton and Manchester and to Lanzarote from Gatwick.
Commenting on Monarch’s additional Christmas flying, Managing Director of Monarch Airlines, Tim Jeans said, “Demand for flights over Christmas continues to soar, particularly to our mid haul destinations such as the Canary Islands and Cyprus, where the average temperature in December rarely drops below 20 degrees. It is great that we are now able to respond to this demand by adding additional flights and increasing the available capacity by over 6,000 seats to these festive hotspots.
“The onboard service offered on Monarch’s scheduled flights, which includes extra legroom seating, a range of hot and cold food and selected inflight entertainment is over and above the levels provided by most low fare airlines and is perfectly suited for longer flight sectors such as the Canary Islands and Cyprus.”
Monarch operates scheduled flights to Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal, Cyprus and Turkey from Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester airports. In addition to year-round low fares, Monarch also offers a range of hot and cold meals that can be pre-booked or purchased onboard with prices from £3.00. To enable customers to select where in the cabin they sit and ensure that families and groups sit together, seats can be pre-booked from £7.50 per one-way flight, or from only £15, extra-legroom seats are available, which offer up to six inches of extra space.
Passengers travelling on scheduled flights can also avoid the queues at the airport and take advantage of online check-in which is available between 18 days and 4.5 hours prior to departure.
In addition to flights, Monarch also now offers a huge range of great value holidays, accommodation options, car hire and travel insurance.

More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
With the recent wild fires, disrupting flights and increasing air pollution, environmental quality is a growing factor in attracting tourists.
