New on-line autocheck-in service debuts on www.iberia.com
Thursday 30, December 2010
Iberia has added a new service to its www.iberia.com site. The "Through Check-in" service enables customers to obtain boarding cards for Iberia code-share or connecting flights on 29 airlines.
The service applies to Iberia's 11 partners in the oneworld airline alliance: American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Japan Airlines, LAN, Malev, Mexicana de Aviación, Qantas, Royal Jordanian and S7. It also applies to other 17 airlines: Avianca, Aer Lingus, Binter Canarias, Bulgaria Air, COPA, Czech Airlines, El Al, Jet Airways, Lacsa, Meridiana, Pluna, SN Brussels, Swiss International Airlines, TACA, TAP, Tarom and Ukraine International Airlines.
Every day more than 20,000 Iberia customers use the on-line check-in service, while more than 1,500 use their cell phones to board for flights. The autocheck-in service on www.iberia.com is available from the day prior to the flight to two hours before the scheduled departure time. Passengers without luggage to check can proceed directly to boarding gates when they reach the airport.
More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
With the recent wild fires, disrupting flights and increasing air pollution, environmental quality is a growing factor in attracting tourists.
