Air France flight cancellations due to industrial action
Industrial action by air traffic controllers scheduled for Wednesday 21 July 2010, has forced the French Civil Aviation Authority (Direction Générale de l’Aviation Civile - DGAC), to limit the number of flights by all airlines.

Emirates announce order for 30 Boeing 777-300ERs
Boeing and Dubai-based Emirates Airlines today announced an order for 30 Boeing 777-300ERs (Extended Range) at the 2010 Farnborough International Airshow. Eighteen of these were previously attributed to an unidentified customer on Boeing's Orders and Deliveries website.

Norwegian buys an additional 15 aircraft from Boeing
Norwegian has confirmed an order of an additional 15 Next-Generation 737-800 jetliners from Boeing. The brand new aircraft will be delivered between 2014 and 2016. Norwegian already has a pending order of 48 state-of-the-art 737-800s from Boeing that are continually being delivered up until 2014.

Boeing commercial airplanes CEO sees market for airplanes rebounding
With the Boeing 787 Dreamliner making its dramatic introduction on the international stage, Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Jim Albaugh said the company is working hard to stay ahead of the competition as the market begins to rebound. He made the remarks in a press briefing to open the Farnborough International Airshow.

Austrian Airlines to add Boeing maintenance tool on 777, 767 and 737 Jetliners
Boeing and Austrian Airlines today announced that the two companies have finalized an agreement to enhance maintenance efficiency on Austrian 777-200ERs, 767-300ERs and Next-Generation 737s with the Boeing Maintenance Performance Toolbox. Toolbox will allow the airline to improve its dispatch reliability through the use of e-enabled technologies.

7 million July bookings set Ryanair new monthly record
Ryanair has confirmed that a rush of ‘World Cup’ bookings has seen over 7million passengers book to travel on its guaranteed lowest fares this July – a new monthly record and the first time any European airline will carry over 7m passengers in a single month.

Ryanair - Bournmouth winter schedule announced
Ryanair has confirmed that its Bournemouth base will operate on a nine month seasonal schedule as the UK Govt’s GBP 11 tourist tax prevents its operations from the airport being economically viable during the winter months of November, December and January. Ryanair called on the Govt to axe the tax to allow Britain to return to tourism growth.

Major update at The London Heliport now open for business
The ultra modern new passenger terminal at The London Heliport in Battersea is now officially open for business - ahead of the Farnborough Air Show next week (July 19th to 25th), when many of the senior executives from the world’s leading aerospace companies will be using the heliport en route to and from the show.
