Lufthansa launches new route to Bursa, Turkey
Lufthansa is introducing a new service to Bursa in western Turkey on 1 August 2010. The city will then become the fourth destination in Turkey after Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir to be served direct from Germany by Lufthansa.

Manchester Airport takes CallUma’s luggage tag initiative
Manchester Airport has taken the initiative in running a dual branded airport trial in conjunction with CallUma the travel service specialists, to provide customers with durable luggage tags that include identity protection and an enhanced lost luggage recovery tracking service.

ABTA welcomes move to per plane tax
ABTA welcomes the news that the new coalition Government has agreed to adopt a per plane tax. ABTA’s Manifesto launched on 10 March outlined the need for the reform of Air Passenger Duty on a per plane rather than a per passenger basis. However, ABTA is calling on the Government to rethink its policy to scrap permission for a third runway at Heathrow and new runways at Stansted and Gatwick.

Spanair to create sand-Castle Street
Edinburgh’s Castle Street will become a live, interactive art gallery from 17th-22nd May when an artist creates a massive sand sculpture to celebrate the launch of Spanair’s new direct flights from Edinburgh to Barcelona.
