Ryanair’s Faro base opens today
Ryanair, the World’s favourite airline, today (25th Mar) opened its 39th base at Faro with seven aircraft and 30 routes which will increase Ryanair’s traffic at Faro to 1.3m passengers p.a. and sustain 1,300 jobs at Faro Airport.

Ryanair, the World’s favourite airline, today (25th Mar) opened its 34th base at Leeds Bradford with two aircraft and 17 routes which will increase Ryanair’s traffic at Leeds Bradford to 1m passengers p.a. and sustain 1,000 jobs at Leeds Bradford Airport.

Wizz Air launches Gdansk-Tampere
Wizz Air, the largest low fare – low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe announced today that it would launch a new route to Tampere from Gdansk taking the total number of routes from the capital of the Pomerania region to 19.

Globespan Joint Administrators plea for enhanced regulation
Bruce Cartwright and Ian Oakley-Smith, of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP believe that following the collapse of Scottish airline, Globespan, transitional monitoring should be put in place to protect customers should another airline or business fail.

Ryanair launches 1 million EUR 7 seat sale
Ryanair, the world’s favourite airline, announced that from midnight (24:00hrs) Mon 22nd March it will release 1m €7 seats for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in late April and May.

airBaltic to Open a Base in Tallinn
On June 1, the Latvian national airline airBaltic will open a base in the capital of Estonia, to support the airline’s growth at Tallinn Airport. airBaltic will unveil more details about its future plans in Tallinn on March 31 during the opening ceremony of its new direct Tallinn - Tampere flight.

Company takes account of labour court proposals
In the current pay dispute with pilots, Lufthansa has put forward an offer to the Vereinigung Cockpit pilots’ union. The offer is based on a compromise settlement reached at the labour court in Frankfurt on 22 February.
