New Premier Inn adjacent to the Olympic Stadium
Premier Inn, owned by Whitbread PLC the UK’s largest hotel and restaurant group, announces its latest site acquisition for a new 267-bedroom budget hotel at Stratford, located adjacent to the Olympic Stadium, investing some £25m and creating approximately 90 jobs.

GHO sees positive change in consumer booking patterns
Consumers are changing the way they book holidays according to Great Hotels Organisation (GHO: http://www.ghorg.com), the London-based hotel sales and marketing alliance. Travellers are shifting away from last minute hotel bookings in preference of longer advance booking lead times.

Marriott Celebrates Earth Hour, Turned Out the Lights at 500 Hotels Worldwide
Last Saturday, March 27, at 8:30 p.m., local time, Marriott-branded hotels and resorts worldwide turned out the lights, for one hour, in support of Earth Hour – a global movement uniting businesses, organizations and individuals in taking action to raise awareness to the issues of climate change – and kick off the company’s month-long dedication to environmental awareness.

European hotels that price above competitors see comparatively higher revenues
A new hospitality industry research study finds that rates are the key factor in maintaining revenues, rather than occupancy, when European hotels compare their rates and revenues to their competitive set. A study from Cornell's Center for Hospitality Research (CHR) analyzed comparative rates (ADR), occupancy, and revenue per available room (RevPAR) for hotels in all parts of Europe.

NH Hoteles joins the wwf’s ‘Earth hour’ again this year
NH For the second year in a row, NH Hoteles has joined WWF’s Earth Hour. Between 20.30 and 21.30 next Saturday the 27th of March, it will turn off the lighting on the façades of 289 of its hotels throughout the world (aquellos que poseen iluminación exterior) (those with outside lighting) with the objective of raising its customers and employees awareness about climate change.

This summer visitors to the wine region of Rioja will be able to stay at a brand new four star Hotel Viura, a member of Epoque Hotels.
