Diller calls Google travel deal ‘disturbing’
Barry Diller, chairman of online travel company Expedia and InterActiveCorp, has reportedly described the USD 700 million Google-ITA deal as “a frontal assault on a core area of Internet life” and also stated that Google was “using its market power” to gain an unfair advantage.

Facebook acquires nextstop
Facebook has acquired nextstop, a travel recommendation start-up. nextstop.com will be shutting down on September 1, 2010. The company shared that its current members are being offered a number of tools for exporting their travel guides. It added that Facebook has bought most of its assets.
