Norwegian launches direct flights to London, Edinburgh and Munich from Stockholm
Thursday 18, February 2010
Norwegian continues to expand its base in Stockholm and launches direct flights to London/Gatwick, Edinburgh and Munich, three destinations which are appealing to both business and leisure travellers. The new direct flights will increase Norwegians presence in the Swedish market, as the company is adding an eighth aircraft to the Stockholm base.
Today, there is no low cost alternative to London from Arlanda. London is one of the most popular destinations for Swedes on leisure travel, as well as there is a significant business volume on the route. For that reason, we are very pleased to be the first airline to offer tickets at very competitive prices to all London bound customers, whether they are travelling on business, for shopping or to watch a football game, said Daniel Skjeldam, Chief Commercial Officer for Norwegian.
The new route between Stockholm and London will be served daily, apart from Saturdays. The Stockholm to Munich operation will have three weekly departures, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Passengers have urged us to start operating direct flights to German cities from the Swedish capital. Munich is a fantastic city, attracting tourists by the thousands. The city is also well known to the business traveller, said Skjeldam.
Norwegian will also launch direct flights to the Scottish city of Edinburgh. The flights will have three weekly departures, every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
Edinburgh is one of Europe’s top tourist destinations and Great Britain’s second largest tourist destination after London. The city has a lot to offer, such as an amazing landscape, culture and golf facilities. I am convinced that our three new destinations will be positively received amongst the Swedes, said Skjeldam.
The direct flights to London will start on the 29th of April, whilst the direct flight to Edinburgh will start on May 6th and to Munich on May 7th. The tickets will be available for sale as of February the 17th on www.norwegian.com
Plan your trips with the help of great resources
More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
