Ryanair, the world’s favourite airline, today (10th Mar) confirmed that it will present €10,000 to Nottingham children’s charity When you Wish Upon a Star after 40,000 passengers voted in Ryanair’s online poll to select which charity should receive the unclaimed prize after a €10,000 wining scratch card was eaten by a passenger onboard a flight from Krakow to East Midlands on Thursday 25th Feb.
Ryanair’s connoisseur of cardboard ate his wining scratch card after he was advised that very large cash prizes (such as €10,000) must be claimed directly from Brand Force, Ryanair’s scratch card partner.
Ryanair and Brand Force are delighted to donate this tasty sum to When you Wish Upon a Star, a charity which makes dreams come true for ill children, after 50% of passengers said a children’s charity deserved a €10,000 windfall.
The result of the poll is:
Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said,
“In the last two years Ryanair’s scratch cards have given away 10 cars, over €300,000 in cash prizes and over 100,000 flight vouchers. Clearly Ryanair’s scratch cards offer large cash prizes and they taste great too!
Over 40,000 Ryanair passengers took part in our online poll to decide which type of charity should receive the €10,000 scratch card winnings and over 50% thought that a children’s charity should benefit from a tasty windfall, thanks to our connoisseur of cardboard!”
When You Wish Upon a Star’s Hayley Davies said,
“This €10,000 donation will help make the dreams of so many ill children become a reality and could not have come at a better time. We thank everyone at Ryanair, Brand Force and the hungry passenger who helped secure this windfall for When You Wish Upon a Star. This really is a dream come true.”
More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
With the recent wild fires, disrupting flights and increasing air pollution, environmental quality is a growing factor in attracting tourists.
