The CAA and NATS have confirmed the closure of Belfast, Derry, Edinburgh and Glasgow Prestwick until at least 24:00hrs today Wednesday 5th May.
Wed 5th May – UK Airspace Closure
The CAA and NATS have confirmed the closure of Belfast, Derry, Edinburgh and Glasgow Prestwick until at least 24:00hrs today Wednesday 5th May. Therefore all flights to/from these airports up to 24:00hrs have been cancelled. Passengers scheduled to travel to/from these airports between 06:00hrs and 24:00hrs are advised not to go to the airport, but instead change their flight bookings (or request refunds) on line at www.ryanair.com.
The CAA are cautioning that airspace over Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle may suffer possible closures later today which may cause disruptions or cancellations of flights to/from these airports. Intending passengers at those airports should go to the airport as normal for their scheduled flights and continue to monitor this page for up to date information which will be posted here as soon as it becomes available.
Wed 5th May – Ireland Airspace Closure
The IAA has confirmed the closure of Dublin and Knock from 11:00hrs until at least 24:00hrs and Shannon from 17:30hrs until at least 24:00hrs today Wednesday 5th May. All flights to/from these airports during these closure periods times have been cancelled. Passengers scheduled to travel to/from these airports during these closures are advised not to go to the airport, but instead change their flight bookings (or request refunds) on line at www.ryanair.com.
Twelve Dublin bound flights have diverted to Shannon/Cork where passengers will complete their journey to Dublin by coach – live flight arrival information.
Flights at Cork and Kerry are operating to schedule, with previous restrictions lifted. Passengers intending to travel to/from these airports should go to the airport as normal for their scheduled flights and continue to monitor this page for up to date information which will be posted here as soon as it becomes available
Thur 6th May – UK & Ireland Airspace Update
Based on current CAA, IAA and metrological forecasts we expect:
A) No disruption at UK airports.
B) No disruption at Irish airports with the possible exception of Shannon and Kerry.
