Situation at Spanish airports - 13 May
Thursday 13, May 2010
Restrictions at Madrid-Barajas airport have been suspended, so the activity comes back to normal, with 46 operations an hour. However, some delays are still expected due to the effect of the restrictions during the last days.
Currently, there is no air traffic at the airports of Jerez, Granada, La Palma Island, Fuerteventura and Tangier. However due to the cancellations and delays of the last days, it will take some time before the usual operation of airlines comes back to normal.
Based on current Eurocontrol and meteorological forecasts Iberia expects no airport closure during Thurs 13th May. This situation might change depending on the evolution of the volcanic ash cloud. Passenger are advised to check their flights status on the airlines' website before departure.
