TAP has strongly increased its operations between Portugal to Madeira and the Azores for the Christmas and New Year period, scheduling more than 160 extra flights over and above its regular operations representing an increased capacity of more than 22,000 seats.
This increase will start on 16 December and will run until 5 January 2011 and covers the following routes: Lisbon/Funchal, Porto/Funchal, Lisbon/Horta, Lisbon/Terceira and Lisbon/Pico.
77 extra flights will fly between Lisbon and Funchal offering more than 10,000 seats. TAP will also operate 43 extra flights between Porto and Madeira offering around an extra 6,500 additional seats.
And to the Azores TAP will increase its normal service between Lisbon and Horta by 14 services with more than 2,000 seats available and is adding 22 flights to its regular operation between Lisbon and Terceira thereby increasing its seats on offer by 3,200. Between Lisbon and Pico two extra flights have been created providing an additional capacity of 650 seats.
More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
With the recent wild fires, disrupting flights and increasing air pollution, environmental quality is a growing factor in attracting tourists.
