This year, 25,916 readers whose passion is travel, voted in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice survey on more than 10,000 properties and destinations, ranking the best cities, islands, cruise lines, airlines, hotels, resorts, and car rental agencies worldwide. The survey, originating in 1988, asks voters to rate hotels on a five-point scale, measuring food/dining, location, overall design, rooms and service.
In the British Isles category, Red Carnation’s flagship hotel in Kensington scooped number one spot, achieving an overall score of 95.8 out of 100, noting guests can expect "a top-notch luxury hotel with personalized service." The Milestone, also top position winners of the Readers' Choice awards in 2009 and 2007, was also ranked as the only hotel in London in the Top 100 for hotels, a category for hotels who received ‘sky-high scores.’
