This week's lineup at the Tshwane Fan Fest
Tuesday 22, June 2010
In its official opening, the Tshwane Fan Fest, situated at the Centurion Cricket Grounds, clocked capacity of 25 000 fans an hour before kick-off, a definite indicator that the residents did not want to miss an opportunity to be part of the spirit and fanfare that goes with world’s biggest tournament, the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The Fan Fest is open every day and orgnaisers have ensured a daily line-up of top notch performers, guaranteed to keep the energy levels high whilst filling the atmosphere with excitement.
The City has also installed a giant makarapa not just for the many thousands of soccer fans to sign, but also as a legacy that will demonstrate the status of Tshwane as the City of Champions.
South African food and refreshments are on offer, including a wide variety of traditional tastes, Malay chicken curry, poitjiekos, boerewors rolls, braai and biltong. This is of course in addition to favourites like beef burgers, hot dogs, chicken prego rolls, fish goujons, calamari, lasagna, vegetable soup and French fries.
The City of Tshwane is working closely with FIFA to share data on traffic volumes around key games thus ensuring the smooth flow of operations.

More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
With the recent wild fires, disrupting flights and increasing air pollution, environmental quality is a growing factor in attracting tourists.
