Time for what Christmas is really all about
Monday 22, November 2010
What do you want for Christmas? For many people, “time” would be the answer to that question.
To give passengers more time and inspiration to pick out the perfect presents for friends and relatives, Copenhagen Airport has launched a gift generator that allows you, even on your way to the airport, to pick out exactly the right gifts for your nearest and dearest, and receive clear information on where you can buy them.
You have yet another business meeting somewhere else in the world, and the mere thought of December fast approaching, with all the Christmas joy and present-buying that month brings with it, is making you sweat. Why not combine practicality with utility and have more time for the things Christmas is really all about? CPH’s new gift generator is an easy way to find the perfect gifts for those you hold dear. The generator asks you to select the sex of the recipient, style and price category, and in return supplies you with a wide selection of original gifts to choose between and specific information on where you can buy them.
“We want to make Christmas shopping easier for our passengers. Why not spend the time you have waiting for your flight to get your Christmas shopping out of the way and also later having more time for family and friends? We asked some of Denmark’s best trend-spotters to pick out gift suggestions, so you can be sure we offer some good ideas for gifts both great and small ranging from fun gadgets to more practical clothing items,” says Jan Hertz, vice president of market and services at Copenhagen Airports A/S.
The most interesting, cool, modern and classic gifts
The gift generator is available online at cph.dk/gifts, so even before you get to the airport, we can provide inspiration in your search to find presents to put under the Christmas tree this year. The gift suggestions are by Danish fashion and lifestyle experts Uffe Buchard and Kim Grenaa, who have selected the most interesting, cool, trendy and classic gifts available at the airport for your spouse, sweetheart, children or friends.

“The idea behind the gift generator is to show people how easy it is to do your Christmas shopping on your way to wherever you’re going and then simply pick up your gifts, already wrapped and waiting for you, when you get back. It’s possible to take the time you already have to spend at the airport as a passenger and also use it to do your Christmas shopping so you avoid having to run around your local shopping mall at the last minute,” says Hertz.
You can pick up your gift-wrapped items on your way home, at the Arrival Shop in the baggage reclaim area. All gifts can be exchanged for a period of 30 days after purchase at Copenhagen Airport or the seller’s sister shops outside the airport.
More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
With the recent wild fires, disrupting flights and increasing air pollution, environmental quality is a growing factor in attracting tourists.
The hotel price comparison site www.trivago.co.uk has put together a list of the fifteen most spectacular hotel rooftop terraces in the world.
