Travel Agents who have the X Factor will be looking for lots of 'yeses' from customers as they book their summer holiday this year.
Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield have teamed up with Thomas Cook to offer tickets to the live X Factor show to the top five agents who reach their targets for selling holiday’s flying from their local airport.
Thomas Cook, Airtours and Direct Holidays have already announced extra flights to Turkey, Ibiza, Majorca and Tunisia for summer 2011. These operators have now more than tripled the number of holidays available from the Airport compared to last Summer, making it possible for even more Doncaster and Sheffield people to get away using their local airport.
To launch the new initiative Craig Richmond, the new CEO of Peel Airports, visited Thomas Cook stores across South Yorkshire this week.
He said: “People visiting local travel agents often want the opportunity to be able to fly locally. Here in South Yorkshire they have no better opportunity to take advantage of some fantastic holiday destinations right on their doorstep, by flying direct from Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
“Holidaymakers travelling from Doncaster for this year’s summer holiday now have even more to choose from when booking with tour operators Thomas Cook, Airtours or Direct Holidays.
“We are working closely with Thomas Cook to offer their agents a boost for meeting targets which will encourage people to fly locally. The best agents will get an evening out with dinner and then experience the X Factor Live at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield.”
Richard Calvert, Managing Director for Mainstream Tour Operations at Thomas Cook UK & Ireland, said: “We know and understand that people like to use their local airport wherever possible and we're committed to doing just that for those looking to take a holiday from the Doncaster Sheffield region. Working with the airport and local travel agents in this way will help to remind passengers about our growing holiday programme from Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
With the recent wild fires, disrupting flights and increasing air pollution, environmental quality is a growing factor in attracting tourists.
