Thursday 30, September 2010
Marbellas number one 4 day golf event “The Costa del Golf Challenge” is to be played on four of the most prestigious courses on the coast.
Ask any keen golfer who comes to the Costa del Golf to tell you what his favourite courses are and time and time again you will hear Los Famingos, Alferini Golf course and Finca Cortesin. As well as the exclusive Marbella golf club resort these three are amongst the 4 golf courses being played in next years Costa del Golf Challenge.
This unique event hosted by Simply Golf Holidays includes 4 days of golf at these incredible courses and 5 nights accommodation at the four star Andalucian plaza hotel situated a stones throw from the famous and glamorous Puerto Banus.
Los Flamingos probably the most picturesque course on the coast is hoping to host the Solheim cup in 2015.
Its sister course Alferini Golf Club also known as Gran Flamingos is the new championship design on this estate. Dramatic elevation changes, wide ravines and large rolling greens are classic features of this course.
Marbella Club Golf Resort an exclusive course that is generally reluctant to open its doors to the public, designed by world famous Dave Thomas it offers Golfers a testing 18 hole layout through spectacular scenery.
And lastly but definitely not least is Finca Cortesin Golf Club. This is the newest addition to the Costa del Sols elite courses. Hosting the Volvo World match play in 2009, 2011 and 2012 it is ranked as one of the best courses in Spain.
Jonathan Snell director of Simply Golf Holidays says “using these courses in our 72 hole amateur Golf Tournament ensures we stand out from the rest with regards to value for money. These courses are the most exclusive on the Costa del Sol and to be able to offer these to our customers along with superior accommodation at the Andalucian Plaza Hotel for the prices we are asking is unbelievable”. He continues “This year’s competition was a resounding success, but next year we promise it will be bigger and better”

With the recent wild fires, disrupting flights and increasing air pollution, environmental quality is a growing factor in attracting tourists.
