What makes V Festival rock?
Friday 20, August 2010
V Festival and Virgin have been bringing some of the world’s biggest and best bands to festival-goers for an amazing 15 years. So, you want to know what makes V Festival rock? Well, first up there’s the history behind it all…
We’ve seen the likes of Radiohead, The Killers, The Strokes, Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters and Kylie grace the V Festival stages, and last year’s line-up gave the 165,000-strong crowd what was without doubt one of the best festival experiences of the summer.
Back in ’96, at the very beginning, V Festival was the first UK festival to decide that just one site wasn’t enough, instead swapping the line-up from two venues overnight. It might be the norm now, but even then V Festival was thinking a bit differently to the rest… and we still are.
This year on our 15th anniversary,Virgin Media are proud to be headline sponsors and we’ve got plenty up our sleeve to make this the best V Festival yet.
With a line-up that includes performances from Kings of Leon, Kasabian, Paul Weller, Florence and The Machine, White Lies, Prodigy and loads more amazing acts, it’s destined to be another unforgettable year for everyone involved.
And, unlike other festivals, Virgin Media’s sponsorship of V Festival is a million miles away from just plastering logos wherever there’s a bit of free space. Virgin Media are about making the festival experience as great as it can be for the fans, and that includes loads of extra little touches that you won’t find anywhere else.
If you are a registered Virgin Media customer who purchased tickets for V Festival, and you opted in to hear about Virgin Media’s customer perks including access to the Hidden Garden, Virgin Media will contact you to let you know how you can register for a chance to get hold of a pair of tickets to the Hidden Garden in July. Unfortunately due to capacity restrictions in the Hidden Garden, only customers who are invited to register for Hidden Garden tickets will be able to do so.
One thing’s for sure about V Festival… live music really doesn’t get any better than this. For more infomation visit virginmedia.com
More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
With the recent wild fires, disrupting flights and increasing air pollution, environmental quality is a growing factor in attracting tourists.
