Wizz Air significantly increases capacity in Bucharest

Wizz Air, the largest low-cost/low-fare airline in Central and Eastern Europe announced today that it would significantly increase its capacity in Bucharest, building on the dynamic and consistent growth achieved by the airline.

As of December 15th (2010), Wizz Air will add a 5th aircraft to its Bucharest operating base, and will increase frequencies on many of its popular routes, namely Barcelona (Spain), Milan Bergamo, Rome Ciampino, Catania, Naples (Italy), Paris Beauvais (France), Brussels Charleroi (Belgium), London Luton (UK), Madrid and Valencia (Spain). Concurrently, Wizz Air will also launch new routes to Larnaca (Cyprus) and as of summer 2011 to Malaga (Spain).

Tickets are available for sale on or through the Call Centre. Fares starting from as low as 50 RON (one way, including non-optional charges).

‘Once again having the right business model has proven to deliver great results: we are very satisfied with our business performance in Romania. Our success proves the critical importance of disciplined cost control and robust liquidity position, the two pillars that distinguishes Wizz Air’s business model. As the Romanian market leader airline, Wizz Air will stay committed to support the ever growing demand for air-travel in Romania’ – said John Stephenson, Executive Vice- President of Wizz Air.
