WTO launches discussion forum for World Trade Report 2010
Friday 29, January 2010
The WTO has launched a discussion forum in the run-up to publication of the 2010 World Trade Report in July. The theme of this year’s report is “Trade in Natural Resources: Challenges in Global Governance”.
To stimulate debate, the WTO has created a specific web page where individuals can express their views on the challenges of global trade in natural resources and on the role the WTO could play. The aim is to encourage discussion among WTO delegates, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academic experts, WTO staff members and all those with an active interest in natural resources.
In the months leading up to publication of the Report, short articles concerning the relationship between international trade and natural resources will be posted on the web page. Members of the research and policy community can contribute to this discussion by submitting papers of their own or by commenting on the papers already submitted. Comments are also sought from any individuals with an interest in natural resources. All contributions will be taken into consideration by the authors of the World Trade Report 2010.
Publication of the WTO's flagship publication is scheduled for July 2010. More information on the discussion forum can be found here.
