Aer Arann Links Waterford and Lorient as Summer Route Takes Off

Passengers departing for Lorient on Saturday were treated to a celebratory reception prior to departure as the airline and airport marked the inaugural flight of 2010.

Commenting at the first Lorient 2010 flight celebrations, Graham Doyle CEO at Waterford Airport said, “We’re very pleased that Aer Arann is flying to Lorient from Waterford again this summer. It has always been a well-liked destination and the commencement of the twice weekly route is particularly convenient for families taking their summer holidays both in France and inbound here in the sunny Southeast. It brings an exciting dimension to our services and further adds to the convenience we offer people throughout the Southeast.

Already proving popular with new and existing customers, flights with Aer Arann to Lorient start from €69 one way including taxes. Visit for further information and to make a booking.

Commenting on the inaugural flight Andrew Kelly, Corporate Affairs Director at Aer Arann said “We’re delighted to welcome both new and regular passengers on board our seasonal Lorient flight. The route has proved consistently popular over the years, not only outbound from the south east of Ireland but also outbound as we welcome our French neighbours to Ireland and show them all that Waterford and surrounding regions have to offer”.

Lorient, Brittany’s fourth largest city is a gateway to one of France’s most outstanding regions. Brittany comprises rugged coastlines with some of the world’s most breathtaking views. It features more than 4,000 chateaux, manors and medieval homes and is an ideal destination for water sports enthusiasts, lovers of fine cuisine and seafood, and anyone fascinated by legends and history.
