Brit Holiday Makers Head Back to Eurozone With Jet2.Com

Theres good news in store for UK sun seekers this week as the Euros reign over the British Pound comes to a halt signalling an end to the high cost of holidaying in destinations such as Spain, Greece and Portugal.

Last summer saw a rise in the Great British Staycation, with holiday makers choosing to stay within UK shores for their annual get away’s or head for less-pricey resorts in Egypt and Turkey, outside of the costly Eurozone. But now, with more paella for their Pound and extra sangria for their Sterling, Brits are once again flocking to their perennial favourite sunshine spots.

Philip Meeson, boss of Jet2.com said: “It seems the holiday is over for the ‘staycation’. Us Brits really do love our sunshine and with the unreliable British climate, holidaying at home can’t always provide those endless balmy days by the pool which we just love! At Jet2.com and Jet2holidays we have experienced a huge growth in demand for destinations outside of the Euro-zone such as Turkey and Egypt which offer great value for money...but now the pound is back in rude health this week, our customers are also flocking to old favourites such as mainland Spain, The Balearics, Portugal, Greece and The Canaries. Its great that British holidaymakers are no longer held to ransom over their choice of destination by a weak Pound and have the freedom to take advantage of the many beautiful sunshine resorts on offer in Europe.”

Jet2holidays has just launched its long awaited 2010/2011 brochure which features over 300 properties in 65 resorts across a host of year-round destinations including the Spanish Mainland, Balearic and Canary Islands, Sharm el Sheikh, Portugal, Cyprus, Greek Islands, Tunisia, Madeira, Croatia, as well as a range of exciting city escapes including Tel Aviv.
