Cimber Sterling expands on the international market
Thursday 15, July 2010
Cimber Sterling will open three new services out of Copenhagen Airport in October. Passengers can look forward to a wider range of services and improved accessibility to the three destinations Amsterdam, Zürich and Istanbul.
When the winter season begins at the end of October, Cimber Sterling will expand its number of routes again with the opening of three new services to Amsterdam, Zürich and Istanbul, which will have 12, seven and two weekly departures, respectively.
Demonstrates confidence in the Copenhagen market
“Cimber Sterling has announced the opening of six new international services out of Copenhagen Airport this year alone. With the addition of another three services, Cimber Sterling demonstrates its confidence in the Copenhagen market and in the company's continuing expansion,” said Carsten Nørland, VP, Sales, for Copenhagen Airport.
Since March, Cimber Sterling has, as the only scheduled carrier, offered a service to Antalya on the southern Turkish Mediterranean coast. The route to Istanbul will thus be the company’s second destination in Turkey within a short time and together with Amsterdam and Zürich it strengthens the company’s wide offering to business travellers and tourists.
Benefits both business and leisure travellers
“When we plan which destinations we want to fly to, it’s an important factor that the service will benefit both business and leisure travellers. These three new destinations are a good example of services addressing a broad audience. We also have a number of companies and travel agencies with which we already have a close collaboration who have requested to expand our collaboration on a number of additional destinations”, said Lars Bording, Executive Vice President, CCO of Cimber Sterling. He continues: “When we plan the routes, it’s essential that we can offer good departure times to the main airports. With the opening of these services we are providing a service to passengers looking for a quality product with good flight times and an attractive price.”
First Danish airline flying to Istanbul
Cimber Sterling is the first Danish airline flying to Istanbul and with departure times in the mornings, it offers a good alternative to the current operators on the route. To Amsterdam there will be two daily departures Monday through Friday, a morning departure and a late afternoon departure. Besides this, there will be one daily departure Saturdays and Sundays. The daily departure to Zürich will be at noon.
Cimber Sterling will deploy the 737-700 aircraft with 148 seats on the routes. For departure and arrival times, booking and additional information on Cimber Sterling, go to cimber.dk.
