Commercial aircraft market forecast
Wednesday 3, November 2010
Bombardier aircraft released its annual market forecasts for the business and commercial aircraft markets.
The demand for 20- to 149-seat commercial aircraft is expected to reach 12,800 new aircrafts in the 20 year period from 2010 to 2029. This is an increase of 400 units compared to last year's forecast. As a leader in commercial and business aviation, Bombardier Aerospace is confident about the industry's future and continues to invest in new programs.
The forecast reflects the shift in demand to the upper end of regional and lower end of the mainline markets. Developing markets will present sizeable opportunities for new aircraft sales and commercial aircraft demands from markets outside of North America and Europe is expected to increase considerably, over the next 20 years.
Commercial aircraft will offer operational flexibility, lower operating costs and passenger comfort to mainline carriers, and will be the most environmentally sensitive family of aircraft in its market segment.
