Hotel '41' chosen as a Top Hotel in Europe and the Top Hotel in the UK by TripAdvisor 2011 Travellers' Choice Awards

The Red Carnation Hotel Collection is proud to announce that their five star hotel '41' has been voted by TripAdvisor®2011 Travellers' Choice Awards as a top 25 Best Europe Hotel

'41' is the only hotel in London and the UK to have been chosen for this honour. Now in its ninth year, the TripAdvisor® Travellers' Choice® awards honour the world’s best hotels, based on the opinions of those best placed to judge – real travellers. Unlike any other hotel awards programme in the world, TripAdvisor® Travellers' Choice® winners are based on the millions of real and unbiased reviews and opinions about hotels on tripadvisor.com and content from across the web. TripAdvisor® uses information submitted from 20 million reviewers to determine the awards, which are presented in the form of top 10 and top 25 lists. '41' was also honoured as a Best Hotel by TripAdvisor® in 2009 and has remained a TripAdvisor® favourite hotel ever since.

Guests reviewing '41' on the TripAdvisor website absolutely rave about their first rate experiences at this excellent London hotel. Exclamations ranging from “100% perfect” to “Simply the Best” to “Absolutely Fantastic!” dominate the praise. One guest wrote, “Totally perfect start to our honeymoon … We will definitely be looking for a reason to go back to '41'.”

'41' is a discreet, residents-only haven of style and comfort overlooking The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace. A chic black-and-white design scheme is complemented by the plentiful rich mahogany throughout the hotel, and in particular in the Executive Lounge where natural daylight floods in from the glass roof. Opened in 2001, this intimate club-like property offers the height of five-star luxury: 30 rooms and beautiful suites including one unique Conservatory suite, butler service, 24-hour room service, the latest in-room technology, a full concierge service, and an outstanding level of personal service as staff outnumber guests two-to-one. Boasting one of London’s prime locations, '41' is one of the city’s most distinguished and sought after deluxe hotels.

'41' offers a unique boutique hotel experience. Guests can enjoy personalised dining in the stunning Executive Lounge, the Mezzanine level overlooking the lounge or alternatively the ultimate in-room dining experience. The conservatory style roof of the Executive Lounge also makes for the brightest, sunlit breakfasts (Continental, A La Carte, or Full English) and the most reviving afternoon teas. An unusual feature of '41' is their irresistible invitation to ‘Plunder the Pantry.’ Each evening from 8.30pm onwards, guests can take their pick of complimentary snacks and light bites in the well-stocked fridges of the Executive Lounge.

The unique rooms and suites reflect thoughtful touches such as fresh fruit and flowers, delicious snacks and treats, scented candles, rich mahogany furniture and open fireplaces (not all rooms) ensure that every guest’s stay is luxurious and welcoming. Technology also abounds with iPod docking stations; interactive TV with movies on demand, complimentary high-speed internet, radio, and CD player; fax machines/copiers that double as printers for a laptop.

Malcolm Hendry, General Manager of '41', is delighted to accept this honour. “This award is a true measure of the quality of our service and offering, because it’s based on what guests themselves have to say. It’s a great testament to the staff’s passion for delivering the Red Carnation promise of “No request is too large, no detail too small.”

The Red Carnation Hotel Collection is an award-winning collection of five and four star family-run boutique hotels in London, Dorset, Guernsey, Geneva and South Africa. Each property has its own individual character and unique location that reflects the local environment, culture and cuisine. They all share the qualities that win Red Carnation so many prestigious awards – splendid luxury, generous hospitality, inventive and traditional cuisine, private art collections, passionate service and loyal staff committed to creating richly rewarding experiences for all their guests.
