Iberia adds five new international destinations

This year Iberia is adding five new international destinations, resuming services to three European cities, and launching non-stop flights to Panama City. In no other year in its history has the airline added so many new services.

The first of Iberia's new destinations will be the Jordanian capital Amman, followed by the Syrian capital Damascus, and July 3rd  and 13th, respectively. Iberia will offer two weekly return flights between Madrid and Amman, and one weekly return flight to Damascus. A 141-seat Airbus A-319 will make both flights in about five and a half hours. In addition, passenger can opt to fly to one of the new Middle Eastern destinations and return from the other, to facilitate visits to both countries.

On September 16th, Iberia will launch Monday and Friday services between Madrid and Oran, Algeria –Iberia also flies to the Algerian capital, Algiers. Airbus A-319s will be operated on the route.

On October 1st, Iberia will become the first European airline to fly directly from Europe to Argentina's second-largest city, Córdoba (Argentina) and to San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador. Flights Madrid – San Salvador will have a short stopover in Guatemala, while the return flight to Madrid will be operated directly from San Salvador airport.

Later in October Iberia will establish a direct service between Madrid and Panama City. Until then, the route includes a stopover in Guatemala. As well as the flights to San Salvador, Madrid – Panama City route will be operated with Airbus A-340/300s. Flights to both Central America destinations will increase substantially Iberia’s capacity in the region.

European Summer Destinations Resumed

Iberia will also resume its services to three European destinations after the pause during the winter months:

  • St. Petersburg: Since June 1st, Iberia flies to Russia's second-largest city on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The Spanish airline flies direct to Moscow twice daily.
  • Dubrovnik: The Dubrovnik service will be resumed on June 20th, with return flights from Madrid on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Zagreb: Iberia will fly twice a week (Saturdays and Sundays), starting on July 3rd. As with Amman and Damascus, Iberia offers passengers the option of flying to either Zagreb or Dubrovnik and home from the other of the two Croatian cities.
