Kneehigh Theatre company returns to Cornwall for a summer of wild nights and beautiful theatre in The Asylum

The Asylum is back. Kneehigh Theatre Company’s jaw-dropping, spirit-lifting nomadic theatre space returns, this summer, to Cornwall. The perfect destination for a summer break.

Following its inaugural season last Summer, the Asylum will return to Tywarnhale Farm, near Blackwater in the heart of Cornwall from July 23rd - August 28th.

There will be TWO brand new, made-in-Cornwall shows:

Midnight’s Pumpkin tells one of the greatest stories of all time. Inspired by the story of Cinderella, this night of dancing, story-telling and celebration will all end in a right royal knees-up in a field, for a tipsy, tingling night of romance and magic.

Plus, Kneehigh will premiere its new touring show The Wild Bride. This epic and poetic wondertale is classic Kneehigh stuff. Charting a life from girlhood to womanhood, you can expect instinctive storytelling, devilish humour and a heady mix of live and found music. A grown up romance for brave children and adults alike.

There will also be music, children’s shows, laughter, dancing, and good food and drink - all locally sourced.

A visit to Kneehigh’s Asylum would make a perfect part of a summer weekend in Cornwall, especially if combined with Cornwall’s beautiful sandy beaches, gorgeous food and the many other cultural activities including gardens, galleries and a full programme of events at the Eden Project. See www.visitcornwall.com for more information.

Plan your trips with the help of great resources

More and more travellers think that researching and planning a European city break is half the fun and they're not interested in pre-arranged trips or escorted tours. Self-guided tours offer a lot of advantages but require some guidance and good resources.
