First KLM commercial flights operated normally
Yesterday evening, KLM operated two commercial flights — one to Bangkok and Taipei and another to the Arab emirate of Sharjah. During the flight, and during the technical inspection that followed, nothing out of the ordinary was found in either aircraft.

BA test flight from London Heathrow to Cardiff
A British Airways Boeing 747 has tonight completed a 2 hour 46 minute flight. The aircraft took off from Heathrow at 17.55 and climbed to 40000 feet flying 550 miles due west of Cardiff.

SWISS Airspace to be temporarily closed
Swiss airspace is to be temporarily closed. There will thus be no further arrivals or departures at Zurich, Basel, Geneva or Lugano airports until further notice. In view of this, we were forced to cancel all SWISS departures from Switzerland for Sunday 18 April.

Flight cancellation update - Heathrow, Stansted
Flights are cancelled at all BAA airports until 19:00, Monday 19 April at the earliest. This is due to volcanic ash spreading across the UK from Iceland which has caused restrictions to be placed on the use of UK airspace by the air traffic control service (NATS).

Iberia flight operations on European routes will be restricted until the airports affected will reopen however its dosmestic flights will start tomorrow.

London Luton Airport would like to advise passengers and those meeting people at the airport that flights are suspended until 13:00 on Monday 19th April, owing to the ash cloud generated by an Icelandic volcanic eruption.

Monitoring volcanic ash that affect Europe - Eyjafjallajökull vulcano
The Eyjafjallajökull volcano is still erupting and weather patterns continue to blow volcanic ash towards the UK. Over the weekend, Met Office observations have detected dust in the atmosphere and on the ground. A research aircraft has recently encountered dust during its flight.

Norwegian cancellations due to volcanic ash in the air
Norwegian hopes to be able to operate a number of domestic flights in Norway and Sweden tomorrow. Flights to and from Denmark will in all probability be cancelled. A flight programme available for booking will be posted on Norwegian website as soon as possible. To be guaranteed a seat on a flight you must have a valid booking for the flight in question.

easyJet travel update - Icelandic volcano ash cloud
Due to the ongoing closure of air space in large parts of Europe, easyJet flights to / from Northern Europe, including the United Kingdom will be cancelled today Sunday 18th April, and tomorrow morning Monday 19th April until 13:00 UK BST.

Brussels Airlines cancels its flight programme till Monday 12h00
Given that no significant weather improvement is expected, Brussels Airlines is forced to cancel all its flights until Monday April 19th, 2010 1200 local time (10:00 GMT). This decision will allow us to be better prepared to restart our activities once the European airspace reopens. Brussels Airlines asks its passengers not to go to the airports.

Air Berlin offers to carry out test flights
As a result of the volcanic eruption in Iceland and the volcanic ash that this has released into the atmosphere, the civil aviation safety authorities have shut off major sections of European airspace. On the recommendation of DFS (German Flight Safety Organisation) and Eurocontrol, Air Berlin is cancelling all flights until 02:00 hours on 19th April 2010 inclusive.

Ryanair flight cancellations extended to 1300hrs Wed 21 Apr
Ryanair, today (Sun 18th April) confirmed that based on current meteorological forecasts, and the continuing emission of volcanic ash into the atmosphere over Iceland, it has decided to cancel all scheduled flights to/from the UK, Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Holland, France, Germany, Poland and the Baltic States until 1300hrs on Wed 21 April.

Austrian resumes flight operations partly on 19 Apr
Following the current prognosis Austrian Airlines will resume its flight operations partly on 19th April, 6.00 a.m., which was affected by the volcanic eruption in Iceland during the past days.
