Finnair flight traffic on Monday 19 Apr
Dust discharged into the air by the eruption of a volcano in Iceland is disrupting flight traffic in Europe. Helsinki Airport remains closed until Monday, April 19th, 6 p.m. EET. Finnair has to cancel all of its flights until
then.

KLM operates commercial flights on Sunday
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines operated two commercial flights to the Far East on Sunday evening. There were no passengers on board these flights, which both carried cargo and the regular crew complement.

Ash clouds: test flights
In agreement with the French Civil Aviation Administration (Direction Générale de l’Aviation Civile), Air France will conduct passenger-less test flights, following the example of Germany and The Netherlands.

KLM successfully operates ten test flights
KLM successfully operated a total of ten test flights this weekend. The purpose of the flights was to assess whether the quality of the atmosphere allowed safe air traffic. All of the aircraft have now undergone a technical inspection. KLM conveyed the results of today’s flights to the Dutch air transport authorities, Inspectie Verkeer en Waterstaat (IVW).

LOT has cancelled flights today (April 17, 2010). It may also cancel some or all its flights on Sunday, April 18, 2010. The decision regarding tomorrow will be made at 6:00 p.m today (Warsaw time).

Thomson cancelled flights - update 17 Apr
Following the eruption of a volcano in Iceland, NATS (National Air Traffic Service) have confirmed that the cloud of volcanic dust is still within UK and European air space today (Saturday 17 April). Thomson Airways has been advised that British airspace remains closed until at least 7am (UK time) on Sunday 18 April. This has resulted in significant disruption to our flying programme, and the airline has taken the decision to cancel all UK outbound flights due to operate on Thursday 15, Friday 16, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 April 2010.

Easyjet flights update 17 Apr
Due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland, UK Air Traffic Control (NATS) has now said restrictions would remain until at least 1:00 BST on Sunday.
