Volcanic ash update on the situation at European airports – 10 May
The large volcanic ash cloud which currently measures approximately 2,000 miles long and 1,400 miles wide is still positioned over the Atlantic from Greenland to the Iberian peninsula. This will continue to cause difficulty for some trans-Atlantic operations and operations into some areas of southern Europe.

Flight update due to volcanic ash - Italy - 9 May
Due to the Volcanic eruption in Icaland, air traffic in Northern Italy has been restricted. Alitalia and Airone communicate that Sunday 9th May from 08 to 2pm (Rome time) flights to and from Turin, Genoa, Milan-Malpensa, Milan-Linate, Bergamo, Pisa, Bologna and Florence are cancelled.

Latest air travel information - volcanic ash - UK and Ireland - 9 May
The high density area of the volcanic ash cloud is now lying to the north-west of the UK and as a result, there are currently no restrictions within UK airspace apart from those affecting Inverness, Wick, Kirkwall, Stornaway, Benbecula and Barra airports, which lie within the no-fly zone from 0700 (local) to 1300.

Spainair fight cancellations due to the second ash cloud - 8 May
The airport authorities have closed the airspace of the following Spanish airports because of the ash from the eruption of Iceland: Barcelona, Santiago de Compostela, Vigo, La Coruña, Oviedo, Santander, Bilbao, Valladolid and Salamanca.

Update on European air traffic situation - Volcanic ash chart - 1200, 8 May
Ash eruptions are ongoing and the area of potential ash contamination is expanding in particular between the ground and 20,000 feet. As a result, during the day, the area affected by volcanic ash is expected to extend from Iceland, south to Portugal and possibly as far east as Barcelona and Marseille.

19 Aena's airports closed due to the volcanic ash, nineteen airports in northern Spain are closed: Barcelona, Girona, Sabadell, Bilbao, San Sebastián, Vitoria, Zaragoza, Huesca, Pamplona, La Rioja, Santiago, A Coruña, Vigo, Asturias, Santander, León, Valladolid, Burgos and Salamanca.
