Radisson to install Child Porn Detection Technology
Thursday 8, April 2010
Radisson Hotels & Resorts said it will be the first to install a new technology at its Scandinavian hotel base in a bid to curb trafficking of pornographic images of children by hotel guests.
Developed by Swedish-based NetClean Technologies, the technology installed on the network gateway will enable the hotel to monitor hotel guests when they receive or distribute images of child pornography.
NetClean's technology, which can be installed on a network gateway or PC, detects and compares images against a database of 400,000 real images largely compiled by the Swedish police during paedophile investigations.
The hotel said it plans to extend the new technology on its entire portfolio, which includes 235 hotels and resorts, according to techworld.com.
