Ryanair launches tenth Polish connection from Stansted
Tuesday 17, July 2012

Ryanair launched its tenth direct flight connection to Poland from Stansted when the first flight took-off to the airline’s latest base at the brand new Warsaw Modlin Airport, which opened for business on 16th July.
Classical music composed by one of Warsaw’s most famous residents, Fryderyk Chopin, entertained passengers in Ryanair’s check-in area to mark the launch of the new daily flights.
The new Modlin Airport is connected to Warsaw city centre by a direct 30 minute train journey, making a visit to the Polish capital attractive to leisure passengers on a short break or time conscious business travellers.
Highlights for any visit to Warsaw include a city tour by horse-drawn Omnibus, trips on the Wisla River, Kampinoski National Park, which is protected as UNESCO World Biosphere reservation, or a day out on a narrow-guage railway.
Welcoming the launch of the new service, Stansted’s Commercial Director, Jonathan Crick, said:
“Half a million visitors arrived into Poland from the UK in 2011 which showcases the country’s growing popularity as both a business and leisure destination.
“Ryanair has already developed a wide range of very popular flight connections across Poland from Stansted, and today we are delighted to add Warsaw Modlin Airport to our route network as we wish Ryanair every success with this exciting new service.”
Ryanair’s Maria Macken said:
“Ryanair is delighted to welcome passengers on board its new daily service from London Stansted to Warsaw Modlin. Ryanair now flies to 10 Polish airports from London Stansted giving passengers even more choice than ever.”
