That's not all, Virgin Trains has also been named best in class in a prestigious performance league, with customer satisfaction hitting record levels.
According to Passenger Focus research, 90% of Virgin Trains passengers were ’satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with the overall service they received, with Virgin Trains topping the table for franchised long-distance operators.
Virgin Trains' Chief Operating Officer Chris Gibb gave a First Class pass offering unlimited travel for a complete month to lucky prize winner Renee Little, as Virgin Trains marked the 250 million customers milestone last week.
Mr Gibb said: "Virgin Trains has transformed rail travel on the West Coast routes over the last 14 years. This franchise has gone from strength to strength, with more trains, more customers, more services and better performance.
"We have achieved so many improvements over recent years and will strive even harder to bring further benefits to customers."
