According to the forecasts, the areas of higher ash concentration are expected to dissipate further during the day, however Madeira and Azores still affected by higher concentration at lower altitudes.
EUROCONTROL expects normal amounts of traffic across Europe.
Madrid airport temporarily suspended aircraft landings due to weather conditions and air traffic congestion, but later resumed arrivals. Flight operations will gradually return to normal, though there could be delays throughout the day.
The Balearic Islands are still affected by air traffic restrictions, causing flight delays. Due to the large number of flight cancellations and delays during last days, it is possible that there will be some delays today until the situations returns gradually to normal.
Ibiza and Palma are open but operating at reduced capacity until 14.00 CET.
